2016 Jamis Renegade

The versatile Renegade Exploit stands tall against the formula that you always need n+1 bikes, n being the number you already own. No, you don’t need a million bikes—you need only one if it’s as well-rounded and hopped up on energy as this one. <!–more–> Where I live in the Lehigh Valley of eastern Pennsylvania, there’s an annual ride called Monkey Knife Fight that involves 6,500 feet of climbing over 70 mixed-terrain miles. While I can never get my shit together to actually sign up for the ride, looping segments of the route solo is one of my favorite ways to jostle myself awake on a Sunday morning. The bike was snappy on pavement and even more impressive on rough, out-of-the-saddle dirt climbs and descents into loose rock.
